CPR & Defibrillation Update
A 2-hour course to update basic life support skills.
Description
Included is simple airway management and defibrillation, using an automated external defibrillator (AED), discussion covering the BLS algorithm and causes of cardiac arrest. Cardiac arrest scenarios will allow the skills learnt to be put into a contextual situation. The teaching takes clinical experience into consideration.
The course can be provided onsite as a group booking for a clinical practice, allowing team practice should an emergency event occur.
Continuous practical assessment is performed throughout the course.

Course content
CPR Update - theory & practice
Application of the automatic defibrillator (AED) with safe defibrillation

Prerequisites
Recent employment in a clinical environment.
